The codification (ASC) is now the single source of authoritative nongovernmental US GAAP. In this session, you will learn what the ASC is, and is not, as well as how to use it. You will learn about the overall format and organization; navigation; searching; and bridging from prior standards into the ASC.

Joel Tanenbaum has been a technical manager on the AICPA's Accounting Standards Team since he joined the AICPA in 1988. His current Accounting Standards Executive Committee (AcSEC) projects include revising the Audit and Accounting Guide for Not-for-Profit Organizations and various other issues pertaining to not-for-profit organizations (NPOs), through his role as staff aide to the AICPA’s NPO Expert Panel/Guide Task Force.
