Jeanette Meixner Franzel is Director, Financial Management and Assurance, at the U.S. Government Accountability Office. Ms.Franzel is also project director for Government Auditing Standards (The Yellow Book), and has responsibility for GAO's work in the area of Corporate Governance and the Accounting and Auditing Profession. Ms Franzel actively coordinates with accountability and standards-setting organizations in the U.S. and at the international level. Ms. Franzel also oversees a number of GAO's financial statement audits, including the Securities and Exchange
Commission, and performance audits of various legislative branch entities, including the U.S. Capitol Police, Library of Congress, and the Architect of the Capitol, as well as various programs of the District of Columbia government. She is also responsible
for GAO's oversight of OIG issues on a government-wide basis.
