Susan A. Cantrell is Vice President, Resources Development at of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), a 35,000-member national professional society located in Bethesda, Maryland. Cantrell leads the society’s efforts to explore and implement solutions that result in non-dues revenue. In this role, she oversees corporate relations, business development, and business planning activities to help support member services and facilitate fulfillment of the organization’s mission.

A former practicing pharmacist, Cantrell joined the staff of ASHP in 1992. Before assuming her current position, she was Managing Director of ASHP Advantage, a business unit of ASHP that develops and implements educational activities for pharmacists, physicians, and other health professionals. In this role, she led efforts to employ innovative technology applications for the delivery of educational content to health care professionals.

Susan is active in a number of professional associations, including the International Pharmaceutical Federation, the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education, and the American Society of Association Executives. She has been a frequent presenter at the Alliance for Continuing Medical Education Annual Conference and currently serves as chair of the organization’s Health Care Education Association member section.
