The 22nd Annual GWSCPA NFPO Symposium will take place at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington DC, December 13 & 14. This year's program will celebrate the theme of GOOD GOVERNANCE, the foundation of success for all nonprofit organizations.
Here are some things you need to know before you register:
Conference Materials
Based on attendee feedback from the 2009 event, we are continuing in our efforts to keep the Symposium more environmentally friendly! You will be provided with a FLASH drive at the conference containing reference material for all presenters. However, we know that some people MAY still want to do things the old-fashioned way: If having the slides to take physical notes on is important to you, you will be able to go online (approximately 1 week prior to the conference) to download and print the materials for any sessions you wish -- enabling you to print and bring your own handouts just for the sessions you choose to attend to the conference for notetaking purposes.
Special Events

Be sure to make plans to join us for the popular fourth-annual Peer-to-Peer Networking Reception hosted by Chevy Chase Bank at the close of the first day of the conference (Monday Dec 13), starting at 5:00pm. You may not get certification credit for those 2 hours, but you'll get some delicious refreshments and even better professional connections ... bring plenty of business cards! Additionally, the second day of the event features the popular Nonprofit CFO of the Year Luncheon, celebrating excellence in financial management in three categories. Registration/Check In
The first session begins promptly at 8:15 on the morning of Monday December 13. Registration will open at 7:00 am, and you are welcome to join us any time between 7:00 and 8:15 am for a light continental breakfast and networking with fellow attendees and our generous sponsors. Your name badge and a FLASH drive with all the educational presentations loaded will be available at that time.
Fees
The earlybird registration deadline is TUESDAY OCTOBER 19, 2010. For the best rates, register before that time! The Symposium can only accommodate 550 professionals, so register early to ensure yourself a place at this historic event!

Location
ONE DAY PASS?
Due to the Symposium's limited seating and popularity, we do NOT offer one-day passes to the program. We do, however, make a 'shared registration' available (to split a registration with a fellow professional on two different days) for 50% of the fee per person, PLUS a $50 additional materials fee per person
Location
The Mayflower Hotel is conveniently located at 1127 Connecticut Ave., NW Washington DC 20036 phone: 202/347-3000. It is within a block's walk of the Farragut North and West Metro stations (on the Red and Orange lines). Valet Parking is available at the hotel for a fee of $35/day and there are other lots within the vicinity. Attire
There is no specific dress code for the conference, attendees typically are in traditional business or smart business casual attire.
Cancellation
You can change the name of your attendee at any time with no penalty. Cancellations will be accepted in writing only and are subject to a $100 cancellation penalty after November 1, 2010.
