The 24th Annual GWSCPA NFPO Symposium will again take place at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington DC, December 12 & 13. Here are some things you need to know before you register:
Location
The Omni Shoreham Hotel is conveniently located at 2500 Calvert Street NW Washington D.C., 20008 phone: (202) 234-0700. It is within a two block walk of the Woodley Park / Zoo Metro Station (on the Red Line). Valet Parking is available at the hotel for a fee of $33/day. For more specific information on driving directions to reach the hotel, please refer to their website.
CPE Credits
The Symposium qualifies for 16 CPE Credits, offering extensive education in Tax, Audit/Accounting, Management, and Ethics categories. This program qualifies for credit with DC, Maryland, Virginia and also with the states of New York (Sponsor #002456) and Pennsylvania (Sponsor #PX177796). Credit Certification forms will be distributed & collected after 3:00 pm on the second day of the conference. Conference Materials
We remain committed to keeping the Symposium more environmentally friendly! You will be provided with a FLASH drive at the conference containing reference material for all presenters. However, we know that some people MAY still want to do things the old-fashioned way: If having the slides to take physical notes on is important to you, you will be able to go online (approximately 1 week prior to the conference) to download and print the materials for any sessions you wish -- enabling you to print and bring your own handouts just for the sessions you choose to attend to the conference for notetaking purposes.
Special Events
Be sure to make plans to join us for the popular Sip & Share Peer-to-Peer Networking Reception hosted by Capital One Bank at the close of the first day of the conference (Wednesday Dec 12), starting at 5:15pm. You may not get certification credit for those 2 hours, but you'll get some delicious refreshments and even better professional connections ... bring plenty of business cards!
Special Events
GWSCPA is hosting a one-day focused session designed to provide an introductory experience to those who may be newer to the nonprofit finance & accounting field. Full curriculum and registration information on the Academy experience can be found on the Academy tab.

Registration/Check In
The opening session begins promptly at 8:00 on the morning of Wednesday December 12. Registration will open at 6:30 am, and you are welcome to join us for a light continental breakfast and networking with fellow attendees and our generous sponsors in our new Networking Lounge. Your name badge and a FLASH drive with all the educational presentations loaded will be available at that time.
Fees
The earlybird registration deadline is FRIDAY NOVEMBER 2, 2012. For the best rates, register before that time!
GWSCPA Member Prices:

Location
Due to the Symposium's limited seating and popularity, we do NOT offer one-day passes to the program. We do, however, make a 'shared registration' available (to split a registration with a fellow professional on two different days) for 50% of the fee per person, PLUS a $50 additional materials fee per person.
Attire
There is no specific dress code for the conference, attendees typically are in traditional business or smart business casual attire.
Cancellation
